While this message of gratitude is delayed in its posting, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest thanks and appreciation to all of you who took the time to reach out to me — whether in person, with a card, or by email — following my mother’s passing on May 3.
Losing a parent is never easy, but this loss was especially difficult for it was sudden and unexpected. My mother passed away just six months following the passing of my father who died on October 23, 2015. As my parents lived with me for the past four years, their absence from my home makes the loss of each of them even more profound.
With this unforeseen loss, it has taken me some time to compose formal communications to express my gratitude to those who have been so kind in their expressions of sympathy. I trust you will understand this delay.
The outpouring of support I received from HVCC and EOC staff, both current and past, is a testament to what I have always known. Hudson Valley and the EOC are truly exceptional institutions comprised of caring and compassionate individuals who make life’s most challenging moments a little easier.
